We had several wet days – the equinox and the day after - right after we got to Dillon, but that didn’t stop us from going out and about. We went for several nice walks in the drizzly weather. The mountain tops were covered in clouds and the sky was a slate colored autumn grey.
The clouds were kissing the mountain tops

Golden aspen stand out beautifully against a grey autumn sky

The clouds were descending to the lake

But sailboats were still out for a rainy day sail

The next day, the clouds began to clear

Leaving the mountain tops dusted with the first snows of autumn.

I used to live in Colorado. Miss the Rockies! You captured lovely shots–especially love the aspens.

Great pictures. I have friends in Denver, have been there many times. If you’re ever in Denver you must visit The Tattered Cover…great bookstore with full service restaurant on the premises. I’ve spent whole days there…it’s that big a store.

What a great shift–from the solemn grays to the bright blues! And what a great change of mountain colors as the sky’s color changes! lovely, every bit of it.

beautiful photos, there’s nothing like an expanse of water for proving a photo opportunity at every turn and the colour of the aspens is just perfect
